A wardrobe supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of costumes and wardrobe in a production. They work closely with the costume designer to ensure that the vision for the production is executed flawlessly. Their main duties include sourcing, purchasing, and organizing costumes, fittings and alterations, maintaining and repairing costumes, and coordinating costume changes during performances. They also manage a team of wardrobe assistants and collaborate with other departments such as hair and makeup. The wardrobe supervisor must have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. They should be knowledgeable about different fabrics, sewing techniques, and historical fashion trends.
